Speed! Speed! Speed! All we hear about are racing cars, speed fanatics and adrenaline rush! Well, not all of speed related issues are filled with rainbows and butterflies. Speed is the number one reason for car crashes and accidents around the world. It causes the death or injury of drivers, passengers, pedestrians and animals. It also damages public and private property. All these problems along with the pain, trauma and losses we face are all due to one reason which is speeding. Therefore, to try to prevent these damages to humans and properties, we have speed limits on most roads in order to contain the range of speed that is taking place on each specific road. Highways for example, have different speed limits than that of roads in small villages or that of a crowded city street. That is why, it is important to drive according to the speed limit of that certain road and to stick to it. That way you will avoid a car crash as much as possible and keep your life and other people's lives out of danger. Also, at many times these speed limits are accompanied by radars, so you better slow down or you'll get a speeding fine!

Discussion questions:

1) What is the maximum speed you've been in? Were you driving or not? What did you feel?

2) Are you with or against the idea of applying speed limits and speed fines? Why ?

3) To help speed fanatics stay safe and alive, what other "adrenaline rush producer" substitute do you recommend?
